RENATA BRITO
Journalist
Based in Barcelona, Renata Brito is a Brazilian visual journalist and editor with the Associated Press. She has reported extensively on migration and its effects on borders and human rights. Renata has spent weeks reporting aboard rescue ships in the Mediterranean Sea and investigating the European Union's outsourcing of border control. She has also covered the COVID-19 pandemic in both Spain and her native Brazil reporting from inside hospitals, cemeteries and people’s homes.
In 2024 her visual investigation entitled 'Adrift' was recognized by an Emmy, a World Press Photo, an Overseas Press Club and a Webby among other awards. That same year Renata won a Livingston Award for international reporting.
